The family of James Sayers Vockel of Delray Beach is saddened to announce his passing on February 10, 2021 at the age of 68.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 5 years, Jeanne, his children Kimberly, Melissa and Kelly along with their families, including his 5 grandchildren Sydney, Libby, Rachel, Claire and Vivienne, together with his brother and sisters Stewart, Peggy and Sally; as well as numerous cousins, relatives and friends.

Jim was predeceased by his brother John and his parents Stewart and Carol (Sayers) Vockel.

Jim was raised in Pittsburgh, where he became the1970 Pennsylvania state high school wrestling champion for his division. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta at Lafayette College, graduating in 1974.  Thereafter he served as a Radar Intercept Officer in the United States Marine Corps for five years before a career in the pharmaceutical industry. Jim loved to fly his power paraglider and to help others in need.  He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Delray Beach.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
