Obituary

Janet A. Purvis peacefully passed away at the age of 84 on New Years morning, Saturday, January 1, 2022 at Trustbridge Hospice in Delray Beach, FL.

She was born to hardworking and loving parents Oscar and Margaret Reinhard. She was the middle child of 5 and the only redhead in the family. Upon her high school graduation, Janet moved to the big City, Chicago. That is where she met and married her husband, Arden Purvis II, and they had 3 children. In 1969 they drove to Florida to visit family during Christmas.  Janet was hooked on the mild winter temperatures and beautiful beach in Briny Breezes. In 1970, they decided winter was not for them. They packed up the family and moved to the beach house. There they enjoyed the laid-back lifestyle and never locked doors near the Sea. Countless memories were made over the years entertaining friends and family in their slice of paradise.

Janet was a great cook, hardworking, levelheaded, patient wife and mother. She demonstrated the true meaning of unconditional love. In her younger days she enjoyed bowling, golfing and throwing dice with the fun girlfriends she made over the years. Later she became a Grandma then a "GG" known as Grandma Jan. Always smiling and recanting her favorite phrase, "This too shall pass".  This past Thanksgiving, she added, "I have everything I need".

She is now in good company and reunited with the love of her life for eternity. Janet is survived by her daughters, Ardene (Steve) Letsinger of Machesney Park, IL and Janee (Scott) Hoffmann of Delray Beach FL. She is further survived by her Grandchildren Tyler (Kristen) Hoffmann, Tanner Hoffmann and Christopher Iles; 3 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Arden II, her son Arden III, siblings Margaret Jeanne (Guy) Desotelle, Robert (Ethel) Reinhard, Joanne (Joe) Black and Russell (Michelle) Reinhard.

She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.  A private celebration of life is planned as per Janet's wishes.
