Jean L.
Koehler
October 12, 1926 – May 21, 2023
Jean L. Koehler, 96, of Delray Beach, FL and formerly of Butler, PA passed away on May 21, 2023 at Delray Medical Center. She was born on October 12, 1926 in New Castle, PA to John and Lucille Leighty and grew up in Erie, PA. She graduated from Academy High School in Erie in 1944, and had taken college courses at Butler County Community College.

During her working career Jean had been a Legal Secretary and Bookkeeper at Law Offices and Insurance companies in Erie in the 1940s through the early 1960s when she moved to Butler, PA. From 1972-1984 she was the Customer Service Manager at National Underground Storage (later Iron Mountain) in Boyers, PA. It was during this time that she met a handsome man, Bob Koehler, they married and together with their business partners built a very successful real estate company, K&L Real Estate, which at one time was Butler's largest landlord business.
Jean and Bob loved to travel and shortly after they married their adventures began. They visited virtually every US state and more than 25 countries, including Australia, China, Japan, Egypt, Panama and many European countries.
For the past 21 years Jean and Bob have been residents of Abbey Delray South retirement community in Delray Beach. At Abbey Jean was an avid Bridge player, served on various committees, was a welcoming ambassador for new residents. and participated in many social activities. Jean and Bob loved to dance and could be seen dancing the evening away at the many parties held at Abbey throughout the year.
There are so many more things that could be said about Jean Koehler and her wonderful life, but the thing to remember most is—Jean was the most thoughtful, kind, generous and loving person that you would ever hope to meet. She will be loved for eternity.
