Jill Parrish
Burress
March 8, 1966 – February 21, 2024
Jill was a mother who loved her children, grandchildren and family very much. She passed away at home in Boynton Beach of heart failure on February 21st, 2024, at the age of 57. She was born on March 8, 1966, in Boynton Beach, Florida.
She attended St. Mark School in Boynton Beach K through 8th grade. During this time, she took ballet and tap from Miss Gillian's School of Dance. She often rode her bike with friends to the beach or with her cousin Paul DeGrugillier. She was athletic and at one point won the Knights of Columbus Free Throw basketball contest. She enjoyed riding her minibike and going out in the boat at her grandparents' home in Sebring, Florida.
In 1984, Jill graduated from Lake Worth Christian High School in Boynton Beach where she was on the cheerleading team. During her high school years Jill also took tap, jazz and acrobatics from the Delray Beach Dance Conservatory.
Jill went on her first trip to Disney World for her 8th birthday. From that point on she was enchanted by Disney. She visited the park as often as possible with family. One of her main hobbies was collecting Disney items. She also liked antiques, crafts, cooking and flowers.
After her marriage Jill wanted to be home for her children. She was a full-time volunteer at their school, took them to all side activities and welcomed their friends to her house. During this time, she had a flower business she worked at from home and sold antiques on Ebay.
Jill came down with the side effects of Lupus several years before she was diagnosed with it. No matter how tired, or how she bad felt she did her best to help her family at all times. One school year, during Covid, she spent every day helping her granddaughter with virtual school. She was a good at math and helped all the children. She was always there for anyone who needed help.
Even though she was disabled with Lupus, Jill liked to travel. She planned trips to North Carolina, Georgia, and Disney World with the family. She loved her grandparents' home in Sebring on Lake Istokpoga and when it burned, she was the one who set up and worked on the replacement of it.
Jill is predeceased by her father, Hugh Parrish in 1970 and step-father, James L. Adams, in 2020.
She is survived by her husband, Robert S. Burress, her children, Timothy Dillon Burress and Stephanie Nicole Burress, her grandchildren, Kaylynn, Lillian, Clayton, and Maddison, and her mother, Veronica F. Adams.
A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, 12 PM, at Cason United Methodist Church, 342 N Swinton Ave, Delray Beach, Fl 33444.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League , 3100/3200 N. Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL 33409.
