Joanne Marie (Haluska) Schulz, formerly of Boca Raton, Florida, passed peacefully from this life to be with her Lord, Wednesday, December 3, 2014. She was born and raised in Saint Clair, PA, and preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Haluska, and parents Michael and Ann Haluska. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Paul Schulz, and her children Paula (Dennis) McKinney; Michael (Franney) Schulz; Jennifer (Sean) O'Brien; Marit Karen (Dietmar) Glaser; and Joseph Schulz. She was the proud grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews, all whom she loved dearly.
Joanne had a powerful soprano voice that brought her to New York City to study at The Metropolitan Opera house after she graduated high school. There she met her beloved Paul and their marriage took them from New York to Mobile, Alabama, and back again, eventually retiring to Boca Raton, Florida, where they lived for 26 years. In 2013 they moved to Fairhope, Alabama, to be more central to their children and grandchildren. Joanne's love of music was always a part of her life and she used it to entertain as well as praise the Lord. Her rendition of "'O Holy Night" was a gift to all who heard it. She was passionate about her faith and served her parishes with her time and talents throughout her life. She especially was dedicated to the sanctity of life. She was a role model to her family on devotion to faith and marriage. She loved her family and friends dearly and always found the time to stay in touch with those near and far. Her positive outlook on life, generous spirit, smile and loving and compassionate nature will remain with all who were blessed to know her.
