Joanne Lee Varga, age 67, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on September 1, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Joanne was born on July 13, 1952 in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania to Vincent and Eileen (Monroe) Flanagan. A few years later, she and her family moved to Fraser, Michigan where she spent her growing years and met some of her life-long friends. After years up north, Joanne had enough of the snowy winters and decided to move down south to Florida. She accepted a position working for Dr. Howard Kestenberg, DDS as his office manager and whole-heartedly loved her work.

Joanne met and fell in love with her, now, late husband Frank and in 1995, their son Michael was born. Joanne and Frank were so proud of the respectable young man Michael had become.  Frank's successful sculpting career took them to Europe yearly – her favorites being Italy and Hungary.

Friends and family will remember Joanne for her stylish fashion sense, bright smile, outgoing personality, and witty sense of humor.  She was beautiful, creative, and loved yoga.   She put her family first and foremost; she would always find time to visit them in Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Colorado.

Preceded in death by her husband, Frank and her father, Vincent. She is survived by her son Michael; her mother Eileen (Monroe) Flanagan; her sisters Nancy (Randy) Wilson; Karen (Enrico) Cappello; Sandra (Randall) Dusdal; Leslie Wheeler; Cathie (Steve) Clark; her brother Gary (Christine) Flanagan; 18 nieces and nephews; 9 great nieces and nephews; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

A private memorial service for friends and family will be held at a later date.
