J. Desmond Davies, 83, of Ocean Ridge and formerly of Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan peacefully passed away at home, surrounded by family, on January 3rd, 2024.  Desmond is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Susan, four daughters, Pamela, Kathryn, Jennifer and Joanne, six granddaughters, five grandsons and one great granddaughter.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 6th, 2024 at 11am at ST. VINCENT FERRER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 840 George Bush Blvd, Delray Beach, FL 33483 and will be live-streamed on YouTube. Click here to watch the funeral mass via livestream. His cremains will be interred at St. Paul on the Lake Catholic Church in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan in the Spring.

Desmond lived a full life, born October 9th, 1940 in Holywell, North Wales. He earned his PhD and taught at Cambridge University, before joining the pharmaceutical industry as a research and development scientist. His work took him around the world, with the family ultimately relocating to the United States in 1978. His passions involved family and friends, travel, croquet and sailing. He was a deeply religious and caring person, who was considerate and kind to all.
