John M. Davila, 70, of Delray Beach, formerly of New Jersey, passed away following a brief illness at the Trustbridge Hospice at Delray Medical Center on August 4, 2018.

Born in Manhattan, John lived in the Bronx and Jersey City, Parlin, Woodbridge, Lakewood, Piscataway and Somerset New Jersey prior to retiring to Delray Beach in 1997 to play golf and enjoy his favorite beach.  John was a purchasing manager for AT&T and a Navy Veteran, having served as a radioman on the USS Talbot from 1968 – 1970.

John was predeceased by a daughter, Michelle, in 2008.  He is survived by a son, John of New Jersey, a son, Bryan of California, three grandchildren, John, Ava and Kaleb of New Jersey and his life partner, Lynn Zitkus, who cared for him throughout his illness.

A memorial service will be held at Lorne and Sons Funeral Home, 745 NE 6 ^th Avenue, Delray Beach on Wednesday, August 15 ^th at 2:30 PM.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hispanic Unity of Florida, 5840 Johnson Avenue, Hollywood FL 33020 or online at www.hispanicunity.org .
