Obituary

John F. "Jack" Weigand Jr.  died in December 2021, just a few months shy of his 95 th birthday. Jack was a quintessential "people person" and never missed a chance to chat, share stories, and store away information from every conversation. He was a World War II Army veteran.  Jack, an Eagle Scout, worked with Troop 301 in Delray Beach for many years. He enjoyed escaping to the North Carolina mountains. He was a regular at Spanish River Church in Boca Raton. He worked for the phone company for many years.

Jack was on the phone daily with his siblings in New Jersey: Bob, Bill and Margo.  He kept up regular phone calls to many people over the years. For most of his years living in Delray Beach, he could be seen walking around his neighborhood, chatting with any kids around, always stopping to admire any baby, sharing dog biscuits with the local pups, or just catching up on the houses being built, torn down, and renovated. He loved his neighborhood and never wanted to go to a senior living facility (he said there were too many old people there!) He got his wish and lived in his home until the last week of his life.

Jack was predeceased by his wife, Bebby, and his son Will.  Although he was quick to enter into conversation with anyone, his greatest joy came from his family:   Son Ken Weigand (Diane Willis), daughter Penny Morgan, grandchildren: John Morgan (Jennifer), Alex Morgan, and Emily Weigand, and his great-granddaughter Emilia Morgan.

Although it would be our honor to share a memorial service with all of those people who knew and loved our dad, we are aware and respectful of the current pandemic and the possible ramifications of meeting in large groups.  If you'd like to share a memory or special thought about dad, please drop a note in the mail.
