Obituary

John Terrance Holly, Sr., 88, long time resident of Delray Beach, FL died Wednesday, September 28, 2022.  Terry was born in Lynbrook, Long Island, NY on January 2, 1934, son of John Howard Holly and Helen McMahon Holly.  He graduated from St. Cecilia High School in Englewood, NJ.  He served in the US Army and was stationed in Italy.  Terry enjoyed playing tennis, volunteered at the Delray Beach International Tennis Tournament as part of the Court Crusaders and as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church in Boynton Beach.

Terry was preceded by his wife Sheila in 2004 and his great granddaughter Grace Schmidt in 2005. Terry lived for and loved his family. He is survived by his children MaryJo Ball, Maureen (Larry) Crozier, John Terrance Jr. (Heidi), Maria (William) Ranney, John Timothy (Mary Beth), and John Thomas (Anne). Grandchildren Kristin (Adam) Schmidt, Dianna (Richard) Cummings, Mitchell (Kimberly) Ball, Alexander Ball, Melinda (Corey) Smyth, Vanessa Hardin, Teresa (Brent) Bise, Luke Crozier, Heather (Michael) Hall, Kyle (Dan) Stein, Caitlin Allen, Colin Ranney, Taylor Ranney, Ian Ranney, Katharine (Peter) Freyer, Elizabeth (Jeff) Reynolds, Maggie (Matthew) Byrne, Allison Holly, John Thomas Holly, Jr, Sean Holly and Kevin Holly. Great grandchildren Meghan, Caroline and John Schmidt, Lucille, Richard and Howard Cummings, Gwendolyn and Louis Ball, David Haury, Alexis and Adalyn Ball, Jameson, Beckham and Peyton Smyth, Thomas Hardin, Brianna and Declan Bise, Jackson, Landon and Gracelyn Hall, Cameron, Cooper and Madison Stein, Bennett and Rowan Allen, William, Theodore and Rose Reynolds, Peter and Andrew Freyer, Amelia Gill and Phinnion Holly, his sister-in-law Mary Marsar and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be a Memorial Gathering at Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, 745 NE 6 th Ave, Delray Beach, FL on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 from 10:00am to 11:00am followed by a Memorial Service at Lorne & Sons Funeral Home.
