John F. Nevis, 66, passed away on January 2, 2013, after an extended illness.
He served four years in the U.S. Air Force prior to moving to Palm Beach County.
His career as a bartender, included the 1970's at the Boca Raton Hotel,12+ years at the Colony Hotel, Palm Beach, summer seasons at various northern country clubs and resorts and provided him with many humorous tales, he was more than willing to share.
John is survived by his daughter and grandson Jacqueline and Cody Smith; his loving family, Maryrose Baker, Kelley (Robin) Hellier, Nikki Hellier, and his brothers Robert (Geri) and Thomas Nevis.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 10 :30 AM at St. Marks Catholic Church, 643 NE 4th Avenue, Boynton Beach. Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, Delray Beach, (561) 276-4161 in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hope Rural School at hoperuralschool.org.
