John E. "Jack" Schnebly, 88, of Delray Beach passed away February 20, 2025. Jack was born in Bay Shore Hospital, LI, NY on August 25, 1936 to the parents of Elias Schnebly and Frances Schnebly.

Jack went to Central Islip Grade School and graduated from Central Islip High School in 1955.  He married Grace Spera in 1957.

Jack worked for Mental Hygiene for New York State and moved many times starting in Long Island, NY, Poughkeepsie, Buffalo and Ogdensburg.  He then worked for Rockland Psychiatric Center in Rockland, NY, and retired from Willard Psychiatric Center in Willard, NY.  He was a self-taught man and read everything to get ahead.  He even read how to build an addition onto his summer home and did it perfectly and passed all the expectations.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years Grace, and was very proud of his four children Lynn, Peter and wife Denisse, Patricia and husband Robert Kraatz and John, a sister Mary Beigen, 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  Jack was predeceased by three older brothers William, Fred, and Robert.  He had many friends and loved being with all his favorites on Seneca Lake and boating, skiing, sailing, campfires, picnics.  No matter where we lived, it was important to find a good church, a good school and good doctors.
