Obituary

John Baptist Vaccarino, age 85, of Delray Beach, Florida formerly from the Bronx and Yorktown Heights, New York passed away peacefully on May 18, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his loving wife Fanny Vaccarino, of 63 years. He was a devoted father of three children, Camille Tommarello (Anthony) of Laguna Hills, CA, John Vaccarino of Delray Beach, and Ida Beck (Kevin) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. John is also survived by his loving and dear grandchildren Christopher, Nicholas, Alexa, Gianna, Francesca, Anthony and Deanna.
John served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in the 1950's and received an honorable discharge. He worked as a foreman for the Department of Highways in New York City for over 30 years before retiring to Florida. John was also an active parishioner of Emmanuel Catholic Church in Delray Beach as an usher and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
John was a tender, sweet, loving soul with a big heart and a touch as soft as a teddy bear. His smile would light up a room and warm your heart. He had the ability to liven up any room with his wit and sense of humor. In his spare time John loved to cook, bowl, watch professional wrestling (WWE), swim, going for walks, playing lotto, spending time with his family, and occasionally playing an intense game of Monopoly. He will be forever missed, but always in our hearts. There is a lifetime of memories between John and his loving family that will never be forgotten.
