Joseph A. Provenzano, 87, of Delray Beach, FL, formerly of New Kensington, passed away on Tuesday August 12, 2014. Joe was born in Cleto, Italy on September 16, 1926 and immigrated to the United States in his mother's arms in 1927. While serving in the Army Air Corps during WWII, he was an entertainer and comedian. After active duty, he continued in the entertainment business performing in Miami Beach and throughout western Pennsylvania, where he was known as Joey "Kat" Kenson. He eventually settled in New Kensington after meeting the love of his life, Patricia Lou Wagner. They were married on August 8, 1953. Shortly thereafter he entered the automotive business, which eventually led to his co-founding of Jo-Duke Pontiac, a successful dealership located in Arnold, PA.
After leaving the automotive industry in the early 1970's, he moved his family to South Florida where he successfully dabbled in real estate. He dearly loved his wife of 61 years, Patricia, his sons, Joseph M. (Monika) Provenzano, M. D.; Mark Provenzano; daughters Sue A Provenzano and Patricia (James Kiely, M. D.) Kiely and his eight grandchildren. He is predeceased by his son, Perry Kenneth Provenzano. Although he may be gone, his dynamic sense of humor will continue to bring smiles to our faces and warmth to our hearts. We will miss you Papa!
Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 PM Friday in the FRANK F. GIGLER FUNERAL HOME, 2877 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell, PA 15068, where services will be held at 11 AM Saturday. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethesda Hospital Foundation, 2815 S. Seacrest Blvd., Boynton Beach, FL 33435 or to a charity of one's choice.
