Joseph Serpa, 79, of Delray Beach, FL and Narragansett, RI passed away on June 25, 2020.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Maria (Tina) Serpa; sons, David (Wife, Dulce) and Joseph Serpa; granddaughters, Alicia Serpa and Carissa Nye and a sister, Noelia.

Joseph immigrated from the Azores in 1959 and settled in Rhode Island.  He loved this country and the opportunities it provided him.  He started work in textile mills.  As his English improved his hard work and skills elevated him to the position of Supervisor at Handy and Harmon Precious Metals, where he worked for 33 years.  Joseph was very active in the Portuguese community and throughout the 1960's helped sponsor many families come to America.  His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.  Much like George Bailey in "It's a Wonderful Life", Joseph Serpa was a man with many friends and family, making him a rich man in this life.

A Funeral will be held on Monday, June 29, 2020 at 11:30 AM at Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, 745 NE 6th Avenue, Delray Beach, FL 33483.  Entombment will follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery in Royal Palm Beach, Florida.
