Katherine Elizabeth O'Donnell, 97, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2015. She was born and raised in Providence, R.I.  Katherine was a service representative for the New England Tel. & Tel. Co. where she met her future husband Jim. In 1951 they settled in Melrose, MA where they raised their family. Katherine was a soloist at St. Mary's Church and Incarnation Church in Melrose. In addition she was an active member of the Melrose Catholic Women's Club and the Melrose Women's Club.  Together with her husband Jim, Kay was a longtime member of the Bellevue Golf Club. Katherine spent summers at Oak Bluffs on Martha's Vineyard where she especially enjoyed antiquing, auctions, and art fairs. Katherine earned her bachelor's degree in fine arts at Northeastern University.  In 1976 she and her husband retired to Delray Beach, FL where they continued an active life style.

Katherine was predeceased by James E. O'Donnell, her husband of 61 years. She is survived by her beloved son, James K. O'Donnell and his wife Phyllis of Louisville, KY; daughter, M. Jane O'Donnell of Melrose, MA; cherished grandchildren Leigh Vayo and her husband Brad of Black Mountain, NC, Kevin O'Donnell and his wife Jennifer of Louisville, KY and James E. O'Donnell and his wife Lynsey of Fisherville, KY; adored great granddaughters Allison and Ella O'Donnell of Louisville, KY and several dear nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass at St Lucy's Catholic Church (3510 S Ocean Blvd, Highland Beach, FL 33487) on Monday, October 19, 2015 at 3:30 PM.  There will be no visiting hours.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Boys Town, 200 Father Flanagan Road, P.O.
