Kathryn “Kathy” Potrekus, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and musician, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026, surrounded by her family and the music she loved so dearly.

Born in West Palm Beach, Florida on November 23, 1959, Kathy was the third of eight children born to Elissa and Chester Miller. A lifelong resident of Lantana, she was an accomplished violinist and a proud graduate of John I Leonard High School, Class of 1976.

Kathy was the devoted wife of Christopher Potrekus for 49 years and a dedicated stay at home mother to her four children: Kristina, Jeffrey, Alicia, and Patrick. She built a home filled with love, laughter, music and family traditions. Some of her happiest moments were spent traveling, gathering with loved ones and caring for the people she cherished most.

Kathy’s family continued to grow through the years, and she joyfully welcomed Jeff’s wife, Kelley, and their son, William; Kristina’s husband, Eric, and their children, Lily and Jacob; Alicia’s husband, Manny, and their daughters, Alaina and Emma; and most recently, Patrick’s wife, Elizabeth.

Though she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the lives she touched, the memories she created and the family she loved so deeply. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 27, 2026, 10:00 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1000 Lantana Road, Lantana, Florida 33462. Burial will immediately follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, 10941 Southern Boulevard, Royal Palm Beach, Florida 33411.
