Duggan
February 20, 1936 – October 25, 2018
Leo Gerard Duggan, 82, "Uncle Leo" passed away peacefully at home on October 25 th , 2018, surrounded by loved ones. Leo was born in Hyde Park, Massachusetts on February 20, 1936. Leo and his family relocated to Ft. Pierce in 1949 and attended St. Anastasia's Catholic School. In 1951, Leo moved to West Palm Beach and attended St. Ann's High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1956. Leo proudly served his country, both as a Naval Reservist and in The United States Army, 541st Signal Corps stationed in Germany. Leo retired from BellSouth after more than 30 years. Upon retirement, Leo volunteered with St Vincent de Paul Society, enjoyed raising his grandchildren and traveling with his wife Sylvia, and watching the Miami Dolphins play.
Leo is predeceased by his parents; William F Duggan and Matilda J Duggan and his brother William F Duggan Jr. Leo is survived by his wife of 55 years Sylvia Prince Duggan, his children Karen (John) Churey and Kevin (Heather) Duggan. Leo was proud of his three grandchildren: John Joseph Churey III, Lauren (Tyler) Lang and Sean Patrick Duggan. He will be greatly missed but fondly remembered by many loved ones and friends. His sense of humor (Irish), generous spirit and outgoing personality will be remembered and celebrated.
Friends may call on Monday, October 29, 2018 from 2 PM – 4 PM & 6 PM – 8 PM at the Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, 745 NE 6 th Ave., (N. Fed Hwy), Delray Beach. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, 11:30AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10935 South Military Trail, Boynton Beach. Interment with military honors will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 1PM at South Florida National Cemetery, Lane 1
