Leona Mae Longshore Pratt, 94, of Delray Beach, passed away on December 7, 2022.  Leona spent her childhood near Sunbury, Ohio, and graduated from Sunbury High School in 1946.  She married her high school sweetheart, John Eli Pratt, on March 6, 1949, at the Sunbury Methodist Church.  The couple later moved to Columbus, Ohio, where they raised their two daughters: Pamela and Pattie.  Leona was a clerical worker for American Airlines and IBM as well as for the Columbus Fire Department before she retired.  After retirement, Leona and John moved to Spanish Lakes Fairways near Vero Beach, where they spent twenty happy years.  After John's death in 2015, Leona's daughters moved her to Abbey Delray in Delray Beach to be near Pamela.

Music was always an important part of Leona's life and she played the piano for many organizations and churches.  Leona enjoyed knitting and reading; she was a member of American Mensa, and her Christian faith was very important to her.

Leona was pre-deceased by her husband, John Eli Pratt, and her daughter, Pamela Ruth Pratt.  Leona is survived by her daughter, Pattie Pratt Swift (Eric Mann), and two grandchildren: Lee Swift Sidbury (Curtis Sidbury) and Katherine Raquel Swift.  Arrangements are in the care of Lorne and Sons Funeral Home, 745 NE 6 ^th Ave., Delray Beach. There will be a Celebration of Life for Leona on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at 10:45 AM, at the Health Center at Abbey Delray on Lowson Blvd. in Delray Beach.
