Obituary

Linda Faye Thacker, 66, of Boynton Beach, FL and formerly of Martinsville, VA went to be with the Lord, and her heavenly family on Monday, January 1st, 2024.  She was born in Martinsville, VA on May 25th, 1957 to the late Lloyd Carroll Lynch and Ruby Gilley Lynch.

In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her sisters, Shelby Jean Lynch and Brenda (Kay) Lynch Keffer, her brother, Jack Lynch, and brother-in-law, Houston Surber.

Faye is survived by her son, Michael Wayne Taylor, daughter, Christina Michelle Thacker, sisters, Virginia (Jenny) Surber, Barbara (Bobbie) Shrader (Hollis Shrader), Sylvia Giffin (Mike Giffin), brother-in-law, Timothy Keffer, sister-in-law, Yvonne Lynch, granddaughters, Megan Elise Taylor, Crystal McBride (Glenn McBride), and Ashley Underwood (Dee Harris).  Faye is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Sydney and Mason Thacker, Cameron, Malique, and Makiya Hairston, Saige and Abigail McBride, and Trinity Harris, as well as many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Faye retired from Radial, Inc. in Martinsville, VA and moved to Boynton Beach, FL to be with her son and daughter, and enjoy her retirement.  Faye's granddaughter, Megan, and great-grandchildren, Sydney and Mason lived with her in Boynton Beach, FL as well, and loved seeing her enjoy the weather, water, restaurants, wildlife, and so much more.  Faye always looked forward to and loved her adventures with her sisters.  She was an active participant in her daughter's athletic teams; from little league through college, and random tournaments, where Faye was at times a scorekeeper, an assistant coach, or a 1st or 3rd base coach.  Regardless of the role, she was always their biggest supporter and fan, earning the name "Mama Faye".

A floating Celebration of Life will be held for Faye at the Horsepasture Ruritan Club Building at 16209, A L Philpott Highway, Martinsville, VA 24112, at 1p.m. on Saturday, January 27th, 2024.
