Lucille "Lou" Pollifrone passed away on July 2nd at the age of 94. A New Jersey transplant, Lou and her family moved to Delray in 1961 where she became known as "ma" to all who crossed her path. Described by many as a firecracker she was able to overcome many obstacles in her time and always had a story to tell. As a full blooded Italian, Lou's cooking was legendary and no matter how hard anybody tried it could never be matched. Joyful and outgoing Lou always enjoyed being with people and she loved a good party but she was ultimately the happiest when she was surrounded by her kids.
As the matriarch of her family Lou leaves behind her 5 children: Sally (Brian) Brantley of Kissimmee, FL, Sal (Jennifer) Pollifrone of Boynton Beach, Terri (Larry) Schroeder of Delray Beach, Frank (Helen) Pollifrone of Waynesville, NC, and Nick (Lisa) Pollifrone of Boynton Beach, 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016 6PM-8PM at Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, 745 NE 6th Ave. (N. Federal Hwy.) Delray Beach. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 9, 2016 10:00AM at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, 840 George Bush Blvd. Delray Beach. Burial will follow at the Delray Beach Cemetery.
