Margaret W. Bowen, 98, of Delray Beach, passed away on September 23, 2016. Her family moved to Delray in 1958 where she dedicated her life to volunteer work. She sat on the Library Board, belonged to Seagrape Garden Club, worked on the City Beautification Board and Bethesda Auxiliary Board, but her true love was helping to form the Community Child Care Center, now known as the Achievement Center. Into her nineties, she was still going in weekly to sign checks and be active in fund raisers. Margaret was also an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Delray Beach. She loved the game of tennis and played into her 80's. Another love was the game of bridge which she played into her 90's.

She is survived her daughters, Penny Jeghers of Lake Worth, FL, Jamie Whalen, of Port St. Lucie, FL, sister, Patricia Goetz of Carmel, CA, 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband James L. "Pete" Bowen.
