Maria Jesus C. Paulo, 76, of Chicopee, MA. passed away peacefully on July 14, 2013 in her daughter's home in Boca Raton, FL. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Fernando O. Paulo, Sr. and her children Fernando Paulo Jr. of Chicopee, Dr. MaryLou and her husband Carlos Francisco of Boca Raton, FL., Diane and her husband Matthew Cross of Chicopee, and 4 grandchildren Dylan, Angelina, Lauren and Freddy and great–grandson Aiden. She is also survived by her sisters Delfina Paulo, Regina Susano, Emilia Canhoto and brother Manuel DoCarmo and dear Godchildren, nieces, nephews and many more family and friends. She is predeceased by her brothers Joaquim, Delfim and Mario DoCarmo.

Maria was a devoted wife and dedicated mother. She also was a lifelong Catholic devoted to our Lady of Immaculate Conception and Our Lady of Fatima and member of the Rosary Sodality of Holy Name of Jesus Church. She always put her family first. Her home was always opened to all. She was happy to entertain her family and friend's whom she loved. She was very active and helpful in the establishment of many in the Portuguese-American Community. She was a former President of the Women's Club of the Chicopee Portuguese American Club. She had a big heart and happy and ready to help anyone who needed her. She retired from United Technologies, Windsor Locks, CT.

The family is especially grateful to her caring aides Jennifer Grant, Angela Peart, Adelia Ribeiro, Nurse Julia Eastman and Deacon Bill Ferguson.

Maria will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. She was a great lady.

Visitation, funeral mass and burial will be in Chicopee, MA. A memorial service will be held at a later date at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, Delray Beach, FL.
