Mario
Valsi
September 5, 1920 – April 27, 2019
Valsi, Mario (Milo), 98, died peacefully at Trustbridge Hospice, Bethesda Hospital, Boynton Beach, Florida after a short illness. Milo was born September 5, 1920 in Washington County, Pennsylvania to the late Atillio Valsi and Michelina Rotundo Valsi. Milo graduated in 1938 from Warren G. Harding High School, Warren, Ohio followed by 4 years in the U.S Coast Guard. After his discharge from the Coast Guard, Milo and his 2 brothers, Ido and Joseph (both deceased) operated Valsi Cleaners until Milo's retirement. Milo was married to Irene Luoma Valsi for 51 years; they had 2 sons, Paul (Leslie) and Robert; 3 grandchildren, Priscilla (Steve), Monica and Jessica; 3 great grandchildren, Kimberli (Stephen), Brandi (Matt) and Stephen; and 3 great-great grandchildren, Aria, Nikolas and Warren. As the owner/operator of Valsi Cleaners for over 40 years Milo enjoyed being part of the Niles community, sports (especially golf) and camping with granddaughters. Upon retirement Milo and Irene spent winters in Florida close to nieces and nephews. After Irenes death in 1997 Milo continued spending the winters in the Ft. Lauderdale area and summers in Niles, Ohio.
Through Irene's sister and brother in law, Helen & Eddie Richards (both deceased), Milo met a widow, Bea Seim, at a church volunteer work day. Milo and Bea were friends for several years before marrying in 2013. Milo & Bea were married for 5 years and lived in Boca Raton, Florida. Bea had 11 children from previous marriages and adoption. Ronald Seim (deceased), Theodore Seim, Kenneth Seim (Nancy), James Seim (Kitty), James Blitz (Vicki), David Blitz (Mickey), Robert Blitz (deceased) (Carolyn), Carol Holdren, Mary Breschini (Victor), Mike Blitz (Marsha) and Sande Blitz (James).
Milo loved to be "on the go" and enjoyed going back to Ohio where Milo's sons live, watching golf on tv and going to high school basketball games, and traveling. Milo and Bea were active at Grace Community Church, Boca Raton. After Bea's death in 2018, Milo moved to Sonata Assisted Living, Boynton Beach, with his small dog, Princess, whom he doted on. Milo continued being active playing bingo and other activities.
Milo will be missed for his great smile, friendly, warm and generous personality. He loved giving watches and small gifts to people he met. Milo truly never met a stranger and usually found out where everyone was from and where they went to high school. Burial arrangements are being made at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida.
Donations can be made to Milo's favorite charities: The Shriners International Headquarters, 2900 Rocky Point Dr. Tampa, FL 33607 or The VFW P.O. Box 8958, Topeka, KS 66608.
