Mary Holden Garard passed away peacefully on July 14, 2021.  Mary is survived by her loving husband Jim Garard of Northfield, Illinois. Mary was born April 25, 1932.  She and her brother Jamie were raised in Winnetka, Illinois and attended New Trier High School.  After attending Bradford college in Boston, Mary remained on the East Coast before moving back to Chicago with her employer, Time Magazine.

Upon returning, Mary met and married her late husband H. Grant Clark, Jr.  Mary and Grant lived in Glenview, IL and Boynton Beach, FL.  After Grant passed, Mary and Jim Garard began a short courtship and were married in 2011.  Jim and Mary spent the past 10 years traveling the world, playing golf, and taking on tough competitors in Bridge, finding joy and happiness in all these activities.  Even up to the end of her life, Jim would be the one person to bring out Mary's warm and loving smile.

Jim and Mary enjoyed the company of their large friend networks from The Country Club of Florida, The Glen View Club, Gulf Stream Golf Club, Ocean Club, and the Little Club.  In addition to Jim, Mary is survived by her brother Jamie Holden of Vero Beach, and a host of stepchildren, nieces, and nephews who all adored and loved her.  She will be missed.
