Mary C. Mahady, 81, of Delray Beach and Boynton Beach, Florida, formerly of New York City, New York, and Kilmaley, County Clare, Ireland, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, August 6, 2026.
Mary was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose warmth, kindness, and devotion to her family touched the lives of all who knew her. She is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas; her three children, Michael, Ann, and Thomas (T.O.); her daughters-in-law, Nicolle and Melanie; her sisters, brothers-in-law, and sister-in-law, including Ann Casey of Dublin; Catherine (Kitty) and Martin Cahill of Kilmaley; Teresa and Seamus Hughes of Quin; Michael Mahady of Boca Raton; and Judy Mahady of Staten Island; her first cousins, Jack and James Rynne of New York, whom she loved like brothers; her eight cherished grandchildren, Mark, John, Emma, Casey, Hanna, Lauren, Noah, and Sam; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Catherine; her siblings, Thomas and Eileen; her aunt and uncle, Thomas and Delia; her cousin, Tommy; her in-laws, Cyril and Mary; and her brothers and sister-in-law, Steve, John, and Frank and Cathy.Mary will be deeply missed by her family and friends and lovingly remembered for the many years of love, laughter, cherished memories and family traditions she shared with those around her.
Friends may call on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, 745 NE 6th Avenue (North Federal Highway), Delray Beach, Florida 33483. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, 840 George Bush Blvd., Delray Beach, FL 33483.
