Joyce had a strong passion for the water. She loved to be at the beach or on a boat and was both an avid sailor and fisherman in her younger years. She was most at ease in a rainstorm on her lanai overlooking the Intercoastal. Although she lived most of her adult life in Texas and Florida, she never forgot the beauty of winter and traveled north each year as often as she was able. She also enjoyed the woods and fall scenery in the mountains of western North Carolina where she had a seasonal home for many years. Joyce absolutely loved to sing. She was constantly humming or singing to herself and was a member of her church choir until just a few years ago. Joyce also had a heart for the poor, if anyone desires to celebrate Joyce's life with a charitable contribution, please consider St. Mary Catholic Church 1200 East Main Street, Pahokee, FL 33476. Please specify "Outreach Program".
There will be no visitation. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Ascension Catholic Church, 7250 N Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, FL (561) 997-5486 at a later date when it is safe for family and friends to travel. Following cremation, Joyce's remains will be both scattered on Lake Ontario and buried at her gravesite in Greenwood Cemetery, Wilson, NY according to her wishes. Her headstone reads "A SPIRIT FREE ON LAND AND SEA".
