Mary Lou Nicolau, 92, passed peacefully from this life on April 24, 2017. She was born to William and Emma Heibel in Detroit, MI on September 14, 1924. She grew up in Jackson, MI and lived in Delray Beach, FL for many years. She moved to Raleigh, NC later in life to be close to her daughter, Chrisann Houghtlin and her family.

Mary Lou was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Louis Nicolau and her son, Joseph Watts. Left to celebrate her life are her daughters, Cynthia Arcaro, Chrisann (Mark) Houghtlin, Carol (Kimo) Nicolau; her stepdaughter, Stella (Jim) Sirks; her grandchildren, Nicholas Arcaro, Alex (Amy) Fioto, Natalie Fioto, Joseph Watts, great-grandson Ellis Fioto; step grandson Todd Sirks; brother-in-law George Nicolau.

Mary Lou loved art, music, the birds and weekly visits from her great-grandson, Ellis. Mary Lou was a friend to all whose lives she touched and she will be missed very much.

Mary Lou will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Louis, in accordance with her wishes at the Boynton Beach Cemetery and Mausoleum. Please send any memorial donations to your local hospice.
