Mary A. Tourso Ortiz, 93 of Delray Beach, Florida left this world peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2013 in her home surrounded by her loved ones, if not in body than in spirit. May was born in New York City on May 1, 1920. When she moved to Delray Beach from Bellerose, NY in 1973, she was so well liked that neighbors and friends continued to ask about her up until her death. For the last 13 years she shared a home with her daughter Mariann and son-in-law John. May was born a child of the depression but lived a full and healthy life and will be missed by all who had the good fortune to know her. She shared 44 years of marriage with the late Joseph (Pete) Ortiz who passed away in 1986 and is the loving mother of four daughters, Jody Forsythe (Mike), Donna Costa (Dennis), Arline Harms (Tom) and Mariann Gerwig (John). She was blessed with 13 wonderful grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and is the aunt of numerous nieces and nephews. May's caring nature and easy smile will be missed by all who knew and loved her, but she will never be forgotten. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, October 28, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Celebration of Life Service at 7:00 PM at Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, Delray Beach, FL. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County. Private Inurnment will be held at the Boynton Beach Mausoleum.
