Obituary

Mary Lois Walsmith Caudill, age 90, passed away at home on January 1, 2018. She had recently returned home to Delray Beach, FL with her daughter.

Born in Delray Beach, Florida on September 18, 1927, Mary Lois was the daughter of Frederic and Margaret Walsmith. She attended Delray Elementary and was a graduate of Delray High School Class of 1945 (Old School Square). After college, Mary Lois returned to teach at Plumosa Elementary in Delray Beach. She retired from Plumosa in 1991. Mary Lois loved teaching and especially loved teaching her first graders to read. She was a member of the Jonathan Dickinson Chapter of DAR and was active in her church, Seacrest Presbyterian Church. While living in Ohio, she volunteered at St. Anne's Hospital. Mary Lois enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening and playing cards.

Mary Lois is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Caudill, mother, Margaret Walsmith, and nephew, John Shuttleworth.

Mary Lois loved spending time with her family. She was loved and will be greatly missed by daughter, M. Susan Caudill, son, Richard (Sharron) Caudill, grandchildren, Jason (Cherie) Caudill, Kristen (Ben) Thoennes and great-grandchildren, Cameron, Kaelynn, Claire and Allison. She is also survived by her sister, Peggy (Ed) Shuttleworth, nephew Ed Shuttleworth, and nieces, Carol Shuttleworth and Liz (Tim) Browning.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 20, 2018, 1:00 PM at Seacrest Presbyterian Church, 2703 North Seacrest Blvd, Boynton Beach, FL.
