Michael L. Tyson left us on May 29, 2018 at the age of 55. He is preceded in death by his parents Harry and Sophie (Skip) Tyson. Mike was a native Floridian raised in Delray Beach and lived in Boynton Beach. He is survived by his two sons Brian (29) and Jeffrey Tyson (27) both of Boynton Beach, his brother Pete (Darlene) from Royal Palm Beach and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mike was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma when he was nine years old so at a very young age he became a cancer survivor and lived life to its fullest staying busy and productive every minute of every day.
He often supported/walked for Light The Night for Lymphoma Foundation, he volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, assisted with projects around the community when needed and he gladly helped anyone (family, friends and neighbors) who asked. Mike's father passed away when he was a young adult so he always looked out for his mother and became her caregiver until her passing a few years ago. He never saw this as anything but an act of love and dedication. While most 18 year old's were still trying to figure out what to do with their lives, Mike successfully started his own business and grew in his profession becoming a well respected irrigation contractor and more recently an irrigation consultant with A Cut Above Landscaping and Design. As successful as he was in his career, his biggest accomplishment was being the best dad to his sons. While always steering them in the right direction he was able to be their confidant, someone who always had their backs no matter what. He had a bond with his sons that most would envy. Michael Tyson may have lost his battle with cancer but he won in life by being present and making a difference in many people's lives. He will not be forgotten by those of us whose hearts he touched. Rest In Peace Mikey.
