Monica Schmidt, age 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 18, 2026. She was a devoted mother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend, known for her loyal friendships and deep love for her family.

Monica found joy in life's simple pleasures — antiquing, relaxing at the beach, making treasured memories in the Florida Keys, and cheering on the Chicago Cubs and New York Giants. More than anything, she loved being surrounded by the people she loved most. Her warmth, humor, and loving presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael, and her cherished son, Nicholas, whose memory she carried in her heart every day.

She is survived by her loving sister, Doris Porter, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure the memories they shared with her.

Her family finds comfort in knowing she is reunited with those she loved so dearly, and that her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 10:30 AM at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, 840 George Bush Blvd, Delray Beach, FL 33483. Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate her life.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , an organization that was very dear to her heart.
