Nancy W.
Graham
May 8, 1939 – May 14, 2025
Nancy W. Graham of Delray Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 after a brief illness.
Nancy Ellizabeth Wheeler was born on May 8, 1939 to Alfred and Eleanor Wheeler in Bellerose, NY. She received a B.F.A from Columbia University in New York, and a Masters of Education from Ohio State University.
Ultimately receiving a Doctorate in Education Administration from Columbia Teachers' College in New York City, Nancy was a dedicated educator. From working at a HeadStart program in rural Ohio to directing the youth handbell choir at the Granville Presbyterian Church, Granville, OH to the culmination of her career as Principal of Washington Elementary School, West Caldwell, NJ, her passion for learning and teaching shone through.
Art, music and travel were also important parts of Nancy's life. Finding a true love in painting, Nancy spent many summers on her beloved Cape Cod receiving instruction from fellow artists of the Cape Cod School of Art. She took singing lessons for many years, and every Fall would find her on some kind of adventure. Nancy remained an active member of P.E.O., a philanthropic society for the advancement of young women, for over 50 years.
The Presbyterian Church played an integral role in Nancy's life. She was an active member of the Church for more than 60 years, taking on many roles. Nancy was able to combine her faith with her love of music by adding her beautiful voice to the choirs of the Granville Presbyterian Church, Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church, NYC, and the First Presbyterian Church of Delray Beach.
Nancy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Neil Brisson, her sister and brother-in-law Sara and Richard Brush, 4 grandchildren, Theodore, Samuel, Nathaniel and Katherine Brisson, and one great grand-daughter, Elisabeth Amalia Brisson. Nancy was predeceased by her son, Peter Austin Angleberger, her husband Malcolm Judson Graham, and her sister Elizabeth Pawelczak. She also leaves behind 4 step-children, Deborah Bresnahan, M. Judson Graham, Candace Graham and Curtis Graham, nieces and nephews and many close friends who loved her dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the P.E.O. Scholarship Fund or the Cape Cod School of Art Scholarship Fund in Nancy's name.
