Nancy L. Sinks, 69, passed away January 27, 2017 after an extended illness. She was the daughter of Albert and June Sinks. She is survived by her sister Donna Sinks, uncle Kenneth Ricklefs, and cousins Daniel Britt and Michele Petrie. Ms. Sinks was born in Delray Beach, Florida, and graduated from Seacrest High School. She attended Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio, and graduated from University of Florida, Gainesville, with a degree in anthropology. She also attended Florida Atlantic University, studying archeology. Ms. Sinks worked at Merrill Lynch in Delray Beach for many years. While working for the Division of Historical Resources of the City of West Palm Beach, she contributed to the placement on the National Register of Historic Places of the Hurricane of 1928 African American Mass Burial Site at West Palm Beach. Ms. Sinks conducted field work on the Miami River Circle, a site of the prehistoric ancestors of the Tequesta tribe. Upon her mother's passing, Nancy became the caretaker of her father before his death. She was an avid reader and a talented artist. A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017 11:00AM at the Delray Beach Memorial Gardens.
