Nelson J. Hemsley, 93, of Delray Beach and formerly of Long Beach, New York passed away on July 28, 2023. Born in Montreal, Canada, he became an American citizen in 1955.  Nelson served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Union, Local 28. Nelson owned his own roofing business in Long Beach for many years.

He met his wife, Lillie in 1952 and they married shortly after.  They moved to Delray Beach in the late 1990's and absolutely loved it in South Florida. He enjoyed golf, playing cards and going to the arcades in the early days.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lillie, of 70 years, 3 children Howard (Jean) Hemsley of Delray Beach, Heather (John) Gibbons of Delray Beach and Denise Hemsley of Delray Beach, brother Hubert (Dolores) Hemsley, Ocala, FL, 4 grandchildren which he was very proud of Kristopher, Gordon, Alison and Tyler.

Nelson was predeceased by his parents Edward & Matilda (Tillie) and brother Bruce.
