Obituary

Nicholas Joseph Bruno, 99 years, of Delray Beach passed away on February 19, 2015.  Nick served as a second lieutenant in the Army Air Corp during World War II, stationed in New Mexico where he was a bombardier instructor on the B-17 Flying Fortress, and was honorably discharged.  He worked for Trans World Airlines at Kennedy Airport in New York City as a passenger relations representative for 35 years, retiring in 1980.  During his many retirement years, he enjoyed his family, traveling, opera, and good food.  He was a loyal Yankees and NY football Giants fan.

Nick was predeceased by his parents, Carlo and Serafina Bruno, who came over to the United States from Italy to give their future family a better life, and his brothers, Lawrence (Rita) Bruno and Daniel (Lena) Bruno.  He is survived by his devoted wife of 71 years, Louise (Mellone) Bruno; sons, Carl (Vivian) Bruno of East Meadow, NY, Michael (Dolores) Bruno of Delray Beach, and Nicholas J. (Cathy) Bruno Jr, of East Greenbush, NY; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Rita Bruno of Flushing, NY.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 26, 2005 at 10 AM at Emmanuel Catholic Church, 15700 South Military Trail, Delray Beach, FL 33484.  Entombment with full military honors will follow at the Boca Raton Mausoleum, 451 SW 4th Ave., Boca Raton, FL 33432.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice By The Sea.
