Obituary

Pamela Ruth Pratt, 59, of Delray Beach and formerly of West Palm Beach, passed away on April 8, 2021. She was predeceased by her father, John Pratt in 2015. She is survived by her mother, Leona Pratt of Delray Beach; her sister Pattie Pratt Swift (Eric Mann) of Alamosa, Colorado; and her sister's children: Lee Swift (Curtis Little) of Tucson, Arizona, and Dean Swift, Jr. (Tessel Peterson) of Santa Fe, New Mexico; as well as her partner of many years Keith Humphries, of Delray Beach. In addition, Pamela was pre-deceased by Bentley, a Bichon Frise, who was like her child; and she is survived by her more recent canine companion, Bradley.

Pamela was born in Columbus, Ohio, and graduated from Hilliard High School, in Hilliard, Ohio. She then attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, before graduating from Florida Atlantic University in West Palm Beach. Pamela was an accomplished marketing and media professional and worked in several firms in the West Palm Beach area including Hanna, Ramsey & Coates, of which she was a part owner, and her own firm, Palm Beach Media and Marketing. She was highly involved in her community in West Palm Beach including the Chamber of Commerce and SunFest, and as a Board Member of Adopt-A-Family. The City of West Palm Beach also appointed her to the Art in Public Places Committee. Pamela received an "Up & Comers" Award from Price Waterhouse and the South Florida Business Journal in both 1988 and 1989.

Later in life, Pamela moved to Delray Beach and spent many years working at the Delray Beach Playhouse. She enjoyed being involved in both the marketing and the practical aspects of a theatre operation as well as helping organize and run the theatre programs for children. Pamela was an enthusiastic supporter of her adopted home in Delray Beach and was a board member of the Downtown Delray Beach Development Authority for the last two years of her life, only resigning in 2021 due to on-going medical issues.

Pamela's friends and family remember that she was a thoughtful, kind and supportive friend. She was an excellent cook who enjoyed cooking for others. And, she loved fashion and was always stylish and well-dressed.

Arrangements are in the care of Lorne and Sons Funeral Home, 745 NE 6th Ave., Delray Beach. The family is planning a celebration of life for Pamela to take place later this summer.
