Obituary

Pat A. Provitola, 89, Navy Veteran, passed away November 18, 2018.  Born in Manhattan to Anthony & Rose (nee: Pagano) Provitola.  Pat went into the US Navy in 1945, at the lied underage of 16.  He served on the USS Tarawa and on the USS Missouri, where he witnessed the signing of the Japanese surrender on the Missouri. Pat, beloved husband and Dad, is survived by his wife Lena Provitola, his daughter Carole Kriete, son-in-law Tom Kriete, and grandsons Logan and Lance Kriete.  He was their Poppy.

Pat and Lena came to Delray Beach and retired from his job in 1993.  Pat worked for my Uncle, John Marchese (his sister Jean's husband) and helped him manage ABC Music Reproductions in Manhattan NY.  He loved what he did for my uncle and talked about it being his best years. My Dad considered my uncle his mentor and we considered my Dad an incredible role model for all of us. He was fun and fearless. He was kind. Always having compassion for others; my Dad didn't have a mean bone in his body.  He was positive and always happy in life, despite very humble beginnings.  His  words "don't worry, it will all be alright" will forever stay in our minds and memories.
