Patricia Merritt Batson, 90, of Delray Beach passed away on August 21, 2021 and entered her eternal heavenly home.

Patricia is survived by her son Maxwell and wife, Karen, of Castle Rock, CO, son James and wife, Heather, of Delray Beach, grandchildren Christopher and wife, Kara, of Colorado, Meghan and husband, Alex, of Texas, Jeff and wife, Kristen, of Virginia, William of Colorado, Ethan and August of Delray Beach and Kimberly and Michelle of Colorado, five great-grandchildren and three nieces.

Patricia was in the last graduating class of the original Delray Beach High School which is present-day Old-School Square. She graduated with honors from Stetson University in 1952 and continued into the insurance industry working full time as a business manager in Tampa, Florida. She returned to Delray Beach in 1980 to be with her mother, Etha, and help run Merritt Transfer and Storage until her mother passed that same year. She then ran the family business until her retirement in 1998.

Patricia loved her family and friends dearly. She was a blessing to all and those who knew her would say that she was one of the finest people they ever met. A significant calling in her life was to give of her time at First Baptist Church of Delray Beach, from helping in the nursery and Sunday School to serving on the finance committee.

A memorial service will be held on OCTOBER 16th, 2021, 11:00am at First Baptist of Delray Beach, 16333 South Military Trail, Delray Beach, FL 33484.
