Patricia D. Lynch, 92, of Highland Beach, FL died on Sunday, June 23, 2024. She was predeceased by her husband, George A. Lynch Jr., in 2007 and her son, Kevin, in 2002.
"Pat," as she was known to her friends, was born Patricia Ann Dymes in 1932 and grew up in Croton-on-Hudson, NY. She and her husband raised their family in North Plainfield, NJ and later retired to Kutztown, PA and Highland Beach, FL.
A graduate of Croton-Harmon High School, Pat earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Plattsburgh State Teachers College (now SUNY Plattsburgh). She taught first and second grade at East End School in North Plainfield.
Pat was active in St. Bernard's parish, Plainfield, where she taught CCD, and was an active volunteer for many years at St. Mary's in Kutztown and St. Lucy's in Highland Beach. Throughout the years, she worked with many community organizations including the Plainfield Junior Woman's Club; Muhlenberg Hospital as a member of their "Twig" and as a "Pink Lady"; and the Hunterdon Developmental Center in Clinton, NJ where her son, Kevin, was a resident. At her beloved Seagate of Highland community, where she was known for her Friday night happy hours and for hosting parties for every holiday throughout the year, she coordinated the weekly golf group and served on the welcoming committee.
Pat is survived by three daughters: Sharon Jarema (Jim) of Marlton, NJ, Nancy Olesin (Andy) of Princeton, MA.; and Kathleen Sisto (Jim) of Bernardsville, NJ.
She was "Grammy" to 10 grandchildren: Jason, Jordan and Jill Jarema; Katherine, Emily, Alexander and Sandra Olesin; and Matthew, William and Christopher Sisto, as well as four great-grandchildren: Yvaine, Gwenndolyn, Jamie and Philip.
A sister, Ruth Jones, of Lynchburg, VA, and two brothers, Augustus W. Dymes III, of Howes Cave, NY, and Robert Dymes, of Croton-on-Hudson, died before her.
A memorial Mass will be held at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3510 S. Ocean Blvd, Boca Raton, FL 33487 at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains, NJ. A celebration of life will be held for Seagate friends at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Special Olympics or to Hospice by the Sea/Trustbridge Hospice Foundation , 5300 East Ave., West Palm Beach, FL 33407.
