Patricia "Pat" Padla, beloved wife, devoted friend, and vibrant spirit, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, in Delray Beach, Florida, at the age of 71.

Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, Pat grew up in Ridgefield, where she attended Saint Matthew's Elementary School and graduated from Ridgefield Memorial High School in 1971. A proud cheerleader and enthusiastic classmate, Pat carried her school spirit into every chapter of her life. She went on to earn her bachelor's degree from The College of New Jersey, preparing her for a career that blended her love of people, education, and culture.

Pat's life was beautifully intertwined with that of her loving husband, Barry Drake (Ondreyka). Their remarkable journey together spanned more than 50 years, built on a foundation of deep affection, shared adventures, and a mutual passion for music. Together, they toured the Eastern United States, presenting lectures on the history of rock & roll and inspiring thousands of college students with their energy, humor, and knowledge.

A woman of many passions, Pat was an avid golfer and a spirited pickleball player. She found joy and friendship in the community of Polo Trace, where she and Barry made their home since 1999. Despite her love for Florida, Pat's heart was equally tied to Fleischmanns, New York, where they lived since 1973 and joyfully returned each summer.

Pat's warmth, laughter, and curiosity for life left a lasting imprint on everyone she met. She will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, her love of connection, strong liberal political views and her ability to light up any room with her smile.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Barry, as well as countless friends and loved ones who will forever cherish her memory.

A celebration of Pat's life will be planned at a later date in Delray Beach so that all who knew and loved her can gather to share stories, music, and laughter in her honor.
