Obituary

Dr. Paul H. Gamig, 74, of Delray Beach and formerly, Schlettau, Germany passed away peacefully in his home on November 24, 2016 from terminal cancer.

Dr. Gamig was an Obstetrician-Gynecologist. He earned his doctorate degree (MD) at Heidelberg University in Germany. He was certified with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and was a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He opened Mindful Care for Women in 2000 and retired in 2012. Dr. Gamig was a compassionate physician, he took great pride in his work and provided excellent care towards his patients.

Paul was known to his close friends and family as a world traveler. In his younger years he sailed around the world on his beloved yacht named, Janine.

Paul will be remembered as a man with a gentle heart and for his great love for life. He had a deep passion for travel, adventure, reading, and languages (fluent in French, German, Spanish and English). He enjoyed gardening, dancing the tango, art and photography.

He is survived by his wife, Olga of 15 1/2 years, by his daughter, Sabrina Gamig and her husband, Jason Alspach, nieces Susan and Kathrina Gamig, nephew Oliver Gamig and great nephew, Markus (Elke) and their two daughters, Naomi and Malou Rentsch. He was preceded by his parents, Albert Gamig, Katharina Edelman, and brother, Klaus Gamig.

Friends will gather on Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 2PM to 3PM with a 3PM memorial service at Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, 745 N.E. 6th Avenue, Delray Beach, FL 33483.

The Gamig family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring staff of Hospice of Palm Beach County (Trustbridge Health) for the care and support given. Sabrina would especially like to thank Hospice certified nursing assistant, Joy from the Sunshine Team for her gentle, loving care given towards her dad.
