Paul Truono, 78, of Boynton Beach passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 6th. Paul was born and raised in Wilmington, DE. He was the oldest of eight children by his parents Hugo and Theresa.
Paul graduated from the University of Delaware. He then took an assistantship at Florida State, where he received his MBA and met his future bride Karen. Paul began his CPA career in 1970 with Sanville & Fisher in West Chester, PA. Within two years he became a managing partner and continued that role when the company merged and became Maillie Falconiero & Co.
Paul and Karen raised their two boys Phillip and Robert in West Chester, PA. The family was very active at Radley Run Country Club where they spent many hours at the golf course and developed many close friends. The family traveled extensively both in and out of the country.
Paul and Karen lived in Bonita Springs, FL from 2005-2019. He enjoyed golf at Palmira Country Club, and spending time with his dog Duffer. Paul continued as a CPA part time and was the accountant to many clergy in the Catholic Church.
Paul and his wife moved to Quail Ridge Country Club in Boynton Beach in 2019. At Quail Ridge he continued to enjoy competitive golf and won The Player of the year two consecutive years. As an avid golfer Paul had a remarkable eight holes in one, and spent many years as a single digit handicap golfer.
Paul was someone who kept his word, a hard worker, and was compassionate toward others. His passion and focus were also evident when he obtained two black belts in Taekwondo later in his life.
A funeral Mass will be held at St Thomas More Catholic Church, 10935 South Military Trail, Boynton Beach, FL 33436 on Tuesday, April 16t, 2024 at 10:00am.
Paul is survived by his devoted wife, Karen (Bumpus) Truono, who he shared 53 loving years of marriage. He was predeceased by his son Robert in 2009 He is also survived by his son Phillip and daughter-in-law Lauren, 2 grandchildren Lillian and Nicholas, his siblings Joanne, Michael, Jimmy, Tommy, Johnny, Terry, and numerous nieces and nephews.
