Obituary

Pete Dimitrius Tollios, a former resident of Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025, at the age of 93 in Delray Beach, Florida. He was surrounded by his loving wife, Donna Tollios, and family who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Pete was born in Kostarazi, Greece on August 16, 1931 and immigrated to America in 1951. Initially, he worked picking oranges in Florida before moving to the Chicago area, where he met his wife, Frances Tollios, at the Aragon Ballroom. They had 4 sons: Steven, Phillip, James and Pete.

Pete began his career in the hospitality industry and became a successful restaurateur! He retired after the sale of The Buckingham Steak House in Willowbrook, IL.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Pete. He enjoyed quiet evenings with friends and family, cooking delicious meals and happy hour. He found beauty in nature, loved sports and was a passionate golfer. He spent many weekends on the course with his friends and family. Pete had an uncanny ability to find pleasure in his daily activities. He enjoyed keeping busy and taking daily walks. His pleasant personality was contagious to everyone he met!

Pete's loving spirit is carried on by his beloved wife Donna Tollios; his children; Steve (Connie) Tollios, Phil (Cathy) Tollios, James (Howard Greils) Tollios, and Pete (Judith) Tollios, His 7 grandchildren; Charles, Alexis (Tyler), Steven, Jason, Cory (Megan), Phillip (Kylie) Lauren (Cynthia), Evan, and Adam, his 3 great grandchildren; Kaitlyn, Cameron and Milo, and his numerous nieces and nephews.

He is proceeded in peace by his parents Dimitrious and Soultana Tollios, his siblings; Helen, Virginia (Pasha) and Tom, and his grandson; Douglas Tollios.

We are forever grateful for his love, guidance, and unwavering support. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
