A Loving Tribute to Raffaele

All those that knew Raffaele, also knew that his greatest love and achievement was his family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who worked very hard to support everyone. He was a successful hairdresser and businessman who began as a barber at the tender age of 16 and owned his first, of many salons, shortly after. After marrying the love of his life, Angela, they moved from Italy to Switzerland and then to Canada where his sons, Vince, Rudy and Maurizio were born. Always looking for a new and bright opportunity, he and Angela then left Toronto and traveled to South Florida where he owned and operated several beauty shops. However, Raffaele was not only committed to hard work.  He was also always ready for fun and enjoyed not only hosting, but attending great parties!   He was usually the best dancer (sometimes the only dancer) wherever music was played.   He loved the tango and even did a wonderful job with line dancing and the salsa! In the 6 years since he lost Angela, he traveled everywhere to see family and friends.  He took great joy in making these trips and being a part of special memories…. The last of which was at his oldest granddaughter, Carina and Daniel's wedding this past October- and we are all immensely grateful for that time together . Raffaele was a charismatic gentleman in every way.  He was extremely social and would start conversations with complete strangers, at any time and any place.  This 'gift' often led to lasting friendships. He was loyal and generous to many and had such a strong bond with some of his customers that he was still cutting hair well into his 80's, whenever he was asked.  Although they will miss Raffaele's good-natured sense of humor… his habit of answering the phone (sometimes upside down) during meal time and incredible sense of fashion…  His family's best memories will be…  his fondness for GOOD food - his favorites being a delicious minestrone or red snapper dish… His love of collecting quality things….  and his happiness while soaking in panoramic views of the beach and ocean. If you were to have asked him, however, it was Raffaele's sons and beautiful granddaughters in which he had the most pride and adored. They are thankful for all of the wonderful moments shared with their Nonno and Papa, and will treasure their times together always.
