Reca Richardson
Clark
May 20, 1931 – December 18, 2021
Reca Richardson Pruitt Clark, 90, one of God's most beautiful masterpieces is now sharing her beauty in Heaven and glorifying God. Reca passed away December 18, 2021 at Bethesda Hospital in Boynton Beach, Florida. Her devoted daughter, Kris, was by her side.
Reca was the daughter of the late Orien Waddell Richardson and Ivie Marie Johnson. She was born on May 20, 1931 in Wendell, N.C. She was their second daughter and had an older sister, Anna Marie Richardson Grady, an older brother, Joe Bill Richardson, and a younger sister, Betty Jean Richardson Holt. Both her sisters preceded her in death.
Reca graduated from Wendell High School and moved to Raleigh. She married Bobby Albert Pruitt on October 23, 1949. This sweet man passed in 1985. She was a member of Forest Hills Baptist Church in Raleigh for many years. She worked for the Internal Revenue Department and The North Carolina Bar Association. She was a wonderful mother that volunteered her time as a leader of the Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, PTA and supported her children's many activities, such as baseball, football, surfing, swimming and dance. She was also the cookie chairman for the Girl Scouts. The cookie orders were delivered to her home before being picked up by each scout. What a sight to behold!
They were blessed with four children. Her second son, Michael Pruitt, preceded her in death in 2006. Surviving are her oldest son, Bobby Pruitt Jr., wife Rebecca and son John Bradbury of Chapel Hill, N.C. Her daughter Kristina Rowley, husband Jay, and two grandchildren Nicholas Rowley and Caroline Rowley live in Boynton Beach, Florida. Her youngest son, Matthew Pruitt, of Sarasota, Florida, has three children, Sabrina Pruitt, Kirsten Pruitt, and Cameron Pruitt. Reca also had six nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Reca enjoyed travel and loved shopping for beautiful clothes, jewelry, and beauty products. She loved decorating her home, especially at Christmas, and her children remember that as a magical time in their childhood. The whole family spent many years enjoying a second home at the beach in North Carolina right next door to her sister and her family. There was lots of boating, fishing, crabbing, and picnicking on Bear Island. She and her sister were great cooks and the picnics were epic!
She was a great beauty that was often compared to Elizabeth Taylor. She was also a good friend with quick wit and a love of laughter. Her strong and stylish personality, movie star smile, and devotion to her children and grandchildren will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Memories Build A Special Bridge
Our memories build a special bridge when loved ones have to part,
To help us feel we're with them still and sooth a grieving heart.
Our memories span the years we shared, preserving ties that bind,
They build a special bridge of love and bring us peace of mind.
