Obituary

Richard "Dick" Lewis, 80, of Delray Beach passed away on November 17, 2017 after a year-long battle with cancer. Born in Massachusetts on June 21, 1937, Dick resided in Rockland, Ashland, Waltham and East Falmouth until moving to Florida permanently in 2007. Among his many accomplishments, Dick became a bank president at the age of 35. An entrepreneur at heart, he was self-employed from 1973 until his retirement. During that time, he started the family business known as Green Pond Fish Market. Even after retirement, he continued to consult daily with his son, Robert, who took over the family business. Not one to sit still for long, Dick became an active member and president of his homeowners' associations and regularly volunteered for the Special Olympics. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Eleanor Reichheld, who passed in August of 2016.

Richard is survived by his daughter Kimberly L. Flynn, son Robert M. Lewis and three grandchildren. Dick will be remembered for his quick wit and straightforward approach to life and his steadfast support of the New England Patriots.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 27 at 11:00 am (the family will be receiving friends at the church from 10:30 am to 11:00 am) at Emmanuel Catholic Church, 15700 S Military Trail, Delray Beach, FL 33484 followed by a committal service with military honors at 1:00 pm at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 S. State Road 7 (441), Lake Worth, FL, Lane #1. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your local chapter of the Special Olympics or Special Olympics Massachusetts, 512 Forest Street, Marlborough, MA 01752.
