Obituary

Richard Grier Patch, 88, of Delray Beach, FL and formerly of Westerly, RI and Needham, MA passed away peacefully on February 4, 2016 at his home in Delray Beach. He was born in Hartford, CT on March 28, 1927 to the late James Arthur Patch and Helen Parke Patch. Richard was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Suzanne Malone Patch in 1997, brothers, Norman and Daniel Patch and granddaughter, Lauren Patch.

"Dickie" as he was known, was a loving father and great friend to many. He was a graduate of the St. Andrew's School, Middletown, DE and Babson College. After graduating College he began a long and successful carrier as an Insurance broker in Boston until the sale of his business in 2000. Dickie was a former member of the vestry at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Dedham, MA, past president of New England Home for Little Wanderers, former member of the Dedham Country and Polo Club, The Weekapaug Golf Club and current member of the Gulf Stream Bath and Tennis Club. He loved gardening, dogs, playing bridge and sailing.

He is survived by his daughter, Helen Grier Bowditch (Charles) of Darien, CT, and two sons, Christopher Parke Patch (Jane) of Etna, NH and Jonathan Booth Patch (Megan) of Medfield, MA, 7 grandchildren, Findlay, William and Sarah Bowditch, Christopher and Madeline Patch, and Charles and Courtney Patch, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Delray Beach, FL and Massachusetts.
