Richard Carl Stroker, 96, of Boynton Beach, Florida and formerly of Vero Beach, Florida passed away on August 24, 2022.
He was born in Oak Park, Illinois on September 21, 1925. Richard served in WWII and then graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelors degree in Metallurgical Engineering in 1949 and worked at Barber Colman for 37 years in Rockford, Illinois.
He met the love of his life, Elaine Braun and married her on August 26, 1950. They raised 2 girls, Susan and Sharon who blessed them with 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
After retiring, Richard and Elaine traveled the world when he wasn't golfing 6 days a week, taking Sunday off for church. He proudly displayed his 3 Hole-in-One plaques in his office. His dream of the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series was fulfilled in November 2016. His granddaughter wrote his name on the Wrigley Field brick wall and sent him a picture making him so happy.
Richard was a voracious reader up to the end with spy thrillers being his favorite. He left a legacy of being an honest man with strong morals and faithfulness. He will be dearly missed.
Graveside services with military honors will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022, 12:30PM at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7/441, Lake Worth, FL 33467, Lane 1.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can made made to the First Presbyterian Church , 235 SW 6th Avenue, Boynton Beach, FL 33435 or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
