Obituary

Robert "Bob" Arthur Beck II, 70, of Delray Beach, FL, passed away on October 1, 2019.  Bob will always be remembered as a loving husband and father with a strong Catholic faith and a warm generous spirit.

Born in Syracuse, New York, Bob spent most of his time growing up in Jacksonville, FL and Rumson, New Jersey.  An adventurous young boy with a Dennis the Menace spirit, Bob grew up skateboarding, surfing, and competing in gymnastics, wrestling, and cross country.

From a beginning selling vacuums door to door, Bob went on to earn his MBA from Syracuse University and began his career selling life insurance with MetLife.  He ultimately built his own PEO company, Alpha Staff, in South Florida where he employed over 250 people.  He was passionate about mentoring and inspiring his employees to achieve their fullest potential.

In the summer of 1969, he met the love of his life, Cookie, who became his wife of 49 years and the mother of their three children: Robert, Marcella, and Erinn.  Bob and Cookie raised their family in Boca Raton.  Bob was the rock of his family, always believing in and supporting his children's' many endeavors.  Bob had an infectious and joyous spirit and an unmatched love and energy for life.  Since the 1980's, he would regularly take his family to Cashier, North Carolina to enjoy boating and hiking.  He loved the ocean and nature, and proudly built his dream ocean-front home lined with sea oats in Delray Beach just six years ago. Bob also made time for some unique hobbies including collecting maps and juggling.  Passionate to help others see their full potential, Bob was a gifted mentor to his children, close friends, and anyone seeking business advice.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Frances Beck and brother Arthur Beck.  Bob is survived by his brother Stephen Beck, sisters Sr. Faustina Beck and Teresa Koenig, his son-in-law John, daughter-in-law Stephanie, and brother in law Tom Koenig, and several nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by his loving grandchildren Brittani Harris, Robbie Beck, Anthony Beck, Kristina Beck, Brian Robins, Andrew Robins, Aiden Beck, and Jason Robins. He is also survived by his best pal Gunner, a French Spaniel.

Friends may call on Sunday, October 6, 2019, from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. with a scripture service at 6:30 P.M. at Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, 745 N.E. 6 th Avenue, Delray Beach.  A funeral mass will be held at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, 840 George Bush Blvd., Delray Beach on Monday, October 7, 2019, at 10 A.M.  Burial will follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, Royal Palm Beach.
